| Owned lands called Babefeld, held of the Manor of Chiddingstone Burghersh in 1477, in 1477. In 1490 he was owner of the Leas, Greffield (Grottfield) and the Marle, all held of the same manor. In 1488 he, with John Ware and Richard Ashdown, were feofees of Walter Darknoll of Hawden. In 1488, he along with William his son and John Ware (senior and junior), Thomas Ware and Robert Bery bought Larkins from Thomas Pygot. This was later confirmed by brother Nicholas Pygot of Leigh in 1512 (U 908 T13/7). William Woodgate was buried in Chiddingstone Parish Church. |
